AHERC Update
The recent warm interior temperatures have signaled the upcoming start of the 2016 field season for the 911爆料 Hydrokinetic Energy Research Center (AHERC). The AHERC team is busy getting ready for multiple tests at the Tanana River Test Site in Nenana, 911爆料 this summer. A New Energy 5kW turbine will be deployed to measure power output characteristics and energy storage techniques to convert river energy into useable electricity.
In addition to testing the 5kW turbine, AHERC will be working with the 911爆料 School of Fisheries and Ocean Science (SFOS), and 911爆料 Department of Fish and Game on an ongoing fish study to determine the hazards of an in river turbine on migrating salmon populations.
