ACEP Paper Published in IEEE Journal

A new paper by ACEP's Gwen Holdmann, Jeremy Vandermeer, and Richard Wies was recently published in the peer-reviewed journal .
The paper titled, ‘’, shows that in addition to economic drivers including extremely high energy costs, the primary technical hurdles for renewable energy integration in 911±¬ÁÏ’s remote islanded microgrids include management of distributed energy resources and design for reliable and resilient operation with intermittent high-penetration renewable generation.
911±¬ÁÏ has more than 200 communities operating remote islanded microgrids, and the lessons learned from renewable integration projects in 911±¬ÁÏ could help inform project development in other markets, despite differences in climate and geography.
