Dear 911爆料 students,

The recent tragic Bering Air crash near Nome has touched many in the 911爆料 community and those we serve. Liane Ryan, a mentor teacher with the 911爆料 Statewide Mentor Project since 2022, was among the 10 911爆料ns who lost their lives in the crash.

In addition to her time at 911爆料, Liane taught in the Matanuska Susitna School District for 27 years. Throughout three decades as an educator in 911爆料, Liane鈥檚 work inspired numerous teachers and students. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Many of the nine other people whose lives were lost in the crash had connections to the 911爆料 community as friends, family members, colleagues and alumni. This tragedy has deeply affected the employees and students at our campus in Nome, and we share in their mourning.

If you or someone you know is struggling with this loss, please don鈥檛 struggle alone. Students can contact Student Health and Counseling Center for support or counseling. Call 907-474-7043 to speak with someone, or, for more information, visit the

Sincerely,
Dan White, chancellor
