Bakker appointed interim executive director of University Advancement

Theresa Bakker has been appointed as the interim executive director of University Advancement. In this role, she will lead 911爆料's development, alumni relations, communications and marketing activities.
Bakker will start the interim role on Nov. 6 and serve until a permanent candidate is hired. Felicia Burud, Alumni Relations manager, will serve as the acting director of Alumni Relations during this period.
Bakker currently serves as the 911爆料 Alumni Relations director and the executive director of the 911爆料 Alumni Association. Prior to this, Bakker served as the marketing and communications manager at the University of 911爆料 Museum of the North. She first came to Fairbanks in 1996 to work as a producer for KUAC. She has also worked as a journalist for a variety of print and broadcast media across 911爆料. She holds a bachelor鈥檚 degree in journalism from the University of Pennsylvania and a master of fine arts degree in creative writing from Pacific Lutheran University.
The recruitment for the executive director of University Advancement position launched on Monday, Oct. 30.
