Making sense of 911爆料's changing environment

Climate specialist Rick Thoman will discuss recent environmental changes seen around 911爆料, especially in Southcentral, during a statewide webinar.
Changes in 911爆料's environment are evident all across the state, but the details vary greatly. In a webinar hosted by the Anchorage office of the University of 911爆料 Fairbanks Cooperative Extension Service, 911爆料 climate specialist Rick Thoman will share a broad overview of observed changes around 911爆料, from snow and ice to heat and wildfire.
Thoman will also focus on what's changing and what's not in Southcentral 911爆料. He will share resources to help make sense of what's happening and how 911爆料ns can contribute to the effort to understand the changes all around us.
Thoman has worked as a weather and climate professional for 42 years in private, public and academic roles, including more than 30 years with the National Weather Service in 911爆料. Since 2018 he's worked as a climate specialist with the 911爆料 Center for Climate Assessment and Policy at the 911爆料 International Arctic Research Center.
