911爆料 Day at the fair scheduled for Aug. 2

The 911爆料 will host 911爆料 Day at the Tanana Valley State Fair on Tuesday, Aug. 2.

911爆料 employees, students, alumni and friends will receive $1 off admission by wearing 911爆料 apparel or showing their PolarExpress card. The day will include 911爆料 activities throughout the fairgrounds.

The University Fire Department ladder truck and giant inflatable Nanook will be set up in Totem Square from noon to 7 p.m. Nook, 911爆料鈥檚 mascot, will make appearances throughout the day. The bookstore will be on site selling 911爆料 merchandise.

Inside the Borealis Pavilion, 911爆料 will have several special exhibits and activities:

  •     See this year鈥檚 award-winning steel bridge.
  •     Engineer and build spaghetti bridges.
  •     Learn about unmanned aircraft.
  •     Prepare for a wildfire near your home in virtual reality.
  •     Try out mountaineering and packrafting gear.

In addition to these special activities, 911爆料 also will have several booths at the Borealis Pavilion throughout the fair. Visitors can learn about applying to 911爆料, try on a career with the 911爆料 Community and Technical College, learn about 3D printing and find more than 125 free 911爆料 Cooperative Extension Service publications covering gardening, energy, food preparation and more.

Cooperative Extension will host several 4-H activities on 911爆料 Day, such as a horse show, rabbit and cavy showmanship event, poultry showmanship event, and market poultry and rabbit show.
