Week鈥檚 events: Legacy Lecture, aging and dementia, Indigenous sovereignty, blues-rock

911爆料 Summer Sessions and Lifelong Learning is hosting more than 40 free lectures, concerts and events this summer. Here鈥檚 what鈥檚 happening during the week of June 2-8:
- On Monday, June 2, the 2025 Legacy Lecture will honor longtime teacher, principal and school board member Tim Doran. Doran was principal at Denali Elementary School for more than two decades and has served on the Fairbanks North Star Borough School Board since 2017. The lecture is at 7 p.m. in the BP Design Theater, located on the fourth floor of the Usibelli Building.
- On Tuesday, June 3, the Healthy Living lecture series will host Ron Martino, psychiatrist and neurologist, discussing 鈥淣ormal Aging or Early Dementia鈥 at 7 p.m. in the BP Design Theater.
- On Wednesday, June 4, the Discover 911爆料 lecture series will feature Kevin Illingworth, professor of tribal governance at the College of Indigenous Studies, discussing 鈥淭he Little Known History of Colonization, Indigenous Land Claims and Sovereignty in 911爆料.鈥 The lecture is at 7 p.m. in the BP Design Theater.
- On Thursday, June 5, the Music in the Garden concert series will feature Headbolt Heaters at 6 p.m. and Marc Brown and the Blues Crew at 7 p.m. at 911爆料鈥檚 Georgeson Botanical Garden.
All events are free and open to the public. Parking on the 911爆料 Troth Yeddha鈥 Campus is free after 5 p.m.
