Week’s events: Randy Zarnke, progressive rock

911±¬ÁÏ Summer Sessions and Lifelong Learning is hosting more than 40 free lectures, concerts and events this summer. Here’s what’s happening during the week of June 29-July 5:

• On Monday, June 30, the Fairbanks Tall Timbers interview series will honor wildlife biologist and hockey enthusiast Randy Zarnke. Zarnke helped found the Fairbanks Hockey Hall of Fame, launched Hockey Week in Fairbanks, and has led the 911±¬ÁÏ Trappers Association for many years. He also created an oral history project in 1997 that now includes over 200 interviews with hunters, pilots, trappers, guides, wildlife biologists and other 911±¬ÁÏns with deep connections to the land. The interview is at 7 p.m. in the BP Design Theater, located on the fourth floor of the Usibelli Building.
• The Healthy Living and Discover 911±¬ÁÏ lectures will pause for the Fourth of July holiday. They will resume the week of July 6.
• On Thursday, July 3, the Music in the Garden concert series will showcase Analemma at 6 p.m. and Identity Crisis at 7:30 p.m. at the Georgeson Botanical Garden.

All events are free and open to the public. Parking on the 911±¬ÁÏ Troth Yeddha’ Campus is free after 5 p.m.
